1. Course purpose

The course provides self-paced educational material intended to help students prepare for the Canadian Basic Amateur Radio Operator Certificate examination and understand preparedness-related radio communications. It includes lessons, visual material, quizzes, section assessments and examination-preparation material.

Course completion does not issue an Amateur Radio Operator Certificate, licence, qualification or government credential. Certification requires passing an official examination administered through the applicable Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada process. We do not guarantee that any student will pass an examination or achieve a particular score.

2. Accounts and eligibility

  • You must provide accurate and current account information.
  • Your account is personal to you and may not be shared, transferred, sold or used by another person.
  • You are responsible for protecting your password and for activity conducted through your account.
  • You must notify us promptly at info@prepperradio.ca if you suspect unauthorized access.
  • We may require reasonable verification of account ownership before changing account information or providing support.

3. Prices, payment and coupons

All prices and transactions are in Canadian dollars (CAD) unless the checkout expressly states otherwise. Before placing an order, you will be shown the course price, discounts, applicable taxes and total amount payable. Payment is processed through PayPal or another payment method displayed at checkout. You authorize the payment provider to charge the total amount shown before you place the order.

Coupons and promotional prices are subject to their stated dates, eligibility rules and usage limits. Coupons have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for cash and may not be combined unless expressly permitted. We may reject or cancel a coupon obtained or used through error, fraud, duplication, manipulation or a violation of its terms.

4. Cancellations, refunds and statutory rights

Prepper Radio Canada does not provide voluntary refunds, returns, exchanges, credits or prorated reimbursements beyond rights provided by applicable law. Digital course access begins after payment is confirmed. This policy does not limit a cancellation, reimbursement or other remedy that the Quebec Consumer Protection Act or another applicable law requires.

Where Quebec rules governing course contracts apply, a consumer may cancel by sending written notice to Prepper Radio Canada. The amount payable or refundable depends on when cancellation occurs, the services already provided and any limit on cancellation charges established by law. Any amount legally owing to the consumer will be returned within the period required by law. Cancellation instructions and a notice template are available in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.

If you believe you were charged more than once for the same purchase or paid but did not receive access, contact info@prepperradio.ca so we can investigate and correct a verified billing or access error.

5. Course access

Your purchase grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to access the course for your own learning for 180 consecutive days (six months) beginning when payment is confirmed. Access expires at the end of that period unless we expressly provide an extension. We may use reasonable technical and security measures to prevent account sharing, scraping, copying and unauthorized access.

We aim to keep the course available, but uninterrupted or error-free access is not guaranteed. Maintenance, hosting failures, security events, payment-provider issues, internet outages or circumstances outside our reasonable control may temporarily affect access. When reasonably practicable, we will work to restore access.

6. Intellectual property

The website and course—including text, lesson structure, original graphics, assessments, branding, downloads and other material—are owned by or licensed to Prepper Radio Canada and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Purchasing access does not transfer ownership.

  • You may view the material for your personal study.
  • You may not reproduce, republish, record, distribute, upload, sell, sublicense, publicly display or create a competing course from the material.
  • You may not share login credentials or provide course access to another person.
  • You may not remove copyright, trademark or attribution notices.

7. Acceptable use

You may not use the website to break the law, interfere with the service, probe or bypass security, introduce malicious code, impersonate another person, submit false information, harass others, scrape content, reverse engineer protected functions or use automated systems to copy course material.

8. Lawful radio operation and safety

Course material is educational and does not replace current legislation, regulation, official band plans, equipment instructions or professional advice. You are responsible for confirming the privileges attached to your certificate, following applicable radio regulations, operating within authorized frequencies and power limits, and using equipment safely. Preparedness examples do not authorize unlawful transmission or operation.

9. Course changes

We may correct errors and update, reorganize, replace or improve lessons, graphics, assessments and supporting material to reflect regulatory, technical or educational changes. We may also change website features or service providers. We will not intentionally remove the essential educational value of a paid course without providing a reasonable substitute.

10. Third-party services and links

The website may use or link to third-party services, including PayPal, hosting services and external reference websites. Their services are governed by their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party content, availability or practices.

11. Suspension or termination

We may suspend or terminate access where we reasonably believe an account is being shared, used fraudulently, used to copy or distribute course material, used to attack the website or otherwise used in serious violation of these Terms. Where appropriate, we may first request that the violation be corrected. Termination for a violation does not create a right to a refund.

12. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the website and course are provided on an “as available” basis. We make no guarantee regarding uninterrupted access, examination results, certification, employment, emergency outcomes, radio coverage, equipment performance or fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing in these Terms limits warranties or protections that applicable law does not permit us to exclude.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Prepper Radio Canada will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential losses arising from use of the website, course, third-party services or radio equipment. Where liability cannot be excluded, our aggregate liability relating to a course purchase will not exceed the amount you paid for that course, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

14. Privacy and electronic communications

Our collection and use of personal information are described in our Privacy Policy. We may send operational messages concerning your account, transaction, security or course. Promotional messages are sent only where we have the consent or other lawful authority required, and they include an unsubscribe method.

15. Applicable law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Quebec. Mandatory consumer-protection rights that apply in a consumer’s province or territory remain unaffected. Nothing in these Terms restricts a consumer from bringing a proceeding in a court that applicable law makes available to that consumer. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue.

16. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms by posting a revised version with a new effective date. Material changes will apply prospectively unless law requires otherwise.
